Brazil trip sees Paul Ursell speak to global gathering of ophthalmologists

Paul Ursell has recently returned from Brazil, having delivered a series of talks to eye surgeons from around the world.

Paul was speaking at a global gathering of ophthalmologists in São Paulo, organised by the Brazilian Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (BRASCRS).

He said: “I have spent a wonderful few days at BRASCRS in São Paulo. I was really impressed by the scale and breadth of the meeting which now has to be one of the world’s largest meetings for cataract surgery.

“My talks were well-received, discussing bilateral cataract surgery and intracameral steroids. Thanks to Takashi Hida and Durval Carvalho Jnr for the great hospitality.”

The Brazilian Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery originates from the incorporation of the Brazilian Society of Cataract and Intraocular Implants (SBCII) and was founded on March 16, 1982 by the Brazilian Society of Refractive Surgery (SBCR).

It aims to bring together ophthalmologists, expand the study and accompany the development of all technical and scientific aspects inherent to cataract surgery, intraocular implants and refractive surgery, passing them on to ophthalmologists and extending their benefits to the community.
