Our Philosophy
The ethos of the practice is to try and provide a service equivalent to one of the best 5 star hotels in the West End with an equivalent concierge service. The secretary for the practice, Karen Rose, is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and will hopefully answer all of your queries, so please do not hesitate to ask if there are any problems.
The purpose of Mr Ursell’s private practice is to provide the highest possible quality of care for your eyes. We aim to do this by not only having Mr Ursell who is an expert in treating your eyes, but also in all the other services that go along with this. You may be required to have additional tests or come into hospital and we aim to provide the highest quality service for this too. Mr Ursell will take responsibility for all aspects of the health of your eyes. If in the future you develop new problems, it is important that you come back to him for continued care.
This site has no particular interest in promoting one product over another.

You will first need to arrange for a referral from your GP. NHS consultations are seen at Epsom Hospital and Sutton Hospital Surrey.
Finances
The price for surgery under the Consultants Eye Surgeons Partnership (CESP) is from £2,600. This includes the surgery (and drugs), as well as the anaesthetist, hospital fees and one month’s follow-up. This does not include the initial consultation or biometry measurements for your implant which will be invoiced separately. Premium implants can incur an additional cost.
Please make cheques payable to “CESP (Surrey)” and it is important that the cheque is sent to Karen before surgery or given to Mr Ursell on the day of the operation.
BUPA
If you are having surgery using BUPA to settle your account, Mr Ursell’s fee is £955. You will receive an account from Mr Ursell as well as the anaesthetist and the hospital, following surgery.
Please forward these to your insurance company if they are paying or arrange for payment to be made directly to Karen at The Clock House Medical Practice.
If you are living outside the UK and are not paying by insurance, your account will need to be settled in advance prior to surgery. If there are any problems with the insurance company, please do not hesitate to call Karen on 0845 680 2020.
Occassionaly there are differences between the accounts generated by the surgery and the remuneration provided by various insurance companies and this is something you need to discuss with your own insurance company.
